Sample of a bi-monthly HTML sales promo email I created and broadcast
for a Bay Area warehousing and logistics company.
- In addition to designing/creating the emails, I also composed all the copy for them.

Mystery
writer Conan Doyle was once
quoted as saying, "It's a
capital mistake to theorize
before you have data. Inevitably
you begin to twist facts to suit
theories, instead of theories to
suit facts."
Data is the cornerstone of
today's truly efficient retail
logistics management system, not
distribution centers or
distribution inventories or
other physical entities. Data is
what provides the visibility
into the entire supply chain,
letting you identify possible
issues or problems before they
arise and areas where you can
increase efficiencies. Having
the tools necessary to mine,
manage and share the data you
need is the key to allowing you
to leverage it to its full
benefit.
When evaluating how and where
you can further optimize your
retail logistics management
system, look for data that
allows you to answer these
questions:
- Are your purchase orders
calculated to take into account all the factors affecting efficient supply and
delivery of product?
- Are you fully optimizing
the mode of transportation and
types of shipments, ensuring
you are properly consolidating
or cross-docking shipments
wherever possible?
- Are you fully optimizing
the assignment of shipments to
carriers and are their routes
and schedules as efficient as
they could be?
- Do you have all the data
you need to properly monitor
and manage your transportation
system and is that data
readily accessible to all
stakeholders?
- Are there other areas of
your supply chain that should
be re-evaluated for
efficiency?
Remember, your supply chain
is ultimately driven by customer
demand. Customers' business
always goes to the supply source
best calculated to meet their
needs. So, all the components of
your supply chain have to work
together to efficiently to meet
the customers' needs and should
be re-evaluated for performance
and optimization on a regular
basis. Don't hesitate to contact
your PCW account representative
if he or she can assist you in
this in any way.

Special message
from
PCW's President:
We're marking another successful
year at PCW, our 31st, and it's
thanks largely to the hard work,
dedication and innovative thinking
of the PCW Team.
In spite of some challenging
economic conditions, including
escalating fuel costs, the growing
driver shortage, and governmental
legislative pressures, we have
continued to expand our distribution
network and service solutions.
Our new Reno warehouse and
distribution facility is now fully
operational, allowing us to further
optimize the quick-turn distribution
services we offer clients with
retail operations in Reno and other
Nevada locations. It illustrates our
commitment to expanding and
enhancing our transportation and
logistics network in all the markets
we serve, which is essential to
growing our business with both
existing as well as new customers.
So, we are well-positioned to
continue to grow and gain more
market share.
We want to thank you, our valued
customers, for allowing us to
continue to meet your logistics and
transportation needs, and we want to
wish you and your family the
happiest of holiday seasons!
