publisher of Import Service magazine, virtually all automotive service providers, including aftermarket and new-car dealers, have computers, and more than
75% of technicians also have one or more computers at home*. The same study found that about half the service providers have Internet access, while the majority of technicians with a computer at home have Internet access. More important, both the service providers and technicians are buying online more and more. Many recent Internet-related studies show that this trend is just the beginning of what will soon become their most important source for virtually every product imaginable, from B2B products like the tools required for their profession to personal healthcare products.
